The Shared History of Germans and African Americans

Tell Us Your Story!

You can share your story and hear the stories of others at a Circle of Neighbors session on your area.

Over the past few years, we have heard wonderful stories shared by both Germans and African Americans from St. Louis, Hermann, Washington and more. We want to continue collecting these stories (past and present) from Hannibal, Warrenton and Jefferson City, including nearby towns and surrounding areas.

When you submit your story, the following can happen:

  • Your voice may be heard by hundreds even thousands around the state and country
  • Your story might be included in a video or magazine article helping others to hear the “positive stories” that few talk about.
  • You will have the opportunity to meet others who submitted stories and talk about what your stories meant to you and your community.
  • You can make an impact on the lives of others
  • Your story can inspire those who want to bring more love and compassion to the world

  2. It should inspire. Remember things can start rocky, but it’s how it ends or what we learn from it that matters!
